"Credit Inquiries" = "Hard Inquiries"
When you apply for credit card, personal loan or mortgage, you are authorizing the related bank or financial institution to access and review your credit report. Every time they access and review your credit report via TransUnion(TU), it will be counted as 1 "Credit Inquiry".
Example:
If in the past year, you only applied for one credit card, it should be only 1 "Credit Inquiry" shown on your credit report. But if it shows more than "1", it implies that there maybe someone else attempted to open a credit account under your name. If you find any suspicious case, please contact the related bank or financial institutions immediately, and even consider to call the police.
Remarks:
1. Only the inquiries in the past 1 year is counted.
2. "Soft Inquiry" won't be counted, so self-inspection of credit reports by yourself via CreditGo or TU won't leave a mark on your "Credit Inquiries".
